Eradicate Food Apartheids!

Detroit is one among many of predominately black neighborhoods labeled under the misnomer "Food Desert". Majority of our neighborhoods lack adequate resources and grocery stores to facilitate healthy eating habit and lifestyles. Dara Cooper coined the more accurate term "Food Apartheid", used by many Food Activists to describe the intentional systematic destruction of resources, capabilities and access to fresh wholesome foods. Liberated Farms works diligently with our brother & sister farms and community partners to help create a sustainable, liberated agricultural environment right in Detroit, Michigan.

Restoring the NEIGHBOR Back to the HOOD

Detroit Black Farmer Land Fund

With the love and support of the Detroit Black Farmer Land Fund we were able to gain ownership of our farmland we call home.

D Town Farms

The educational and hand-on support we receive from D Town Farms has been insurmountable to our success here at Liberated Farms.

Adorned by Dee

From donating clerical assistance to financing book bag giveaways for the youth, we wouldn’t be where we are today without Adorned by Dee. We’re happy to say that our programs are thriving thanks to their generous support.

Harambee Homeschool Cooperative

Harambee Homeschool Cooperative has been donating their time and services since the founding of Liberated Farms. They help with administrative duties and most importantly providing our students with stellar educational lessons and supplies. The children love them and we are grateful to have them on our team.

Avalon Village is a long standing contributor to the programs of Liberated Farms, aiding in everything from program support to school supply donations. We are appreciative of their constant support and look forward to continuing our build with them.

Our Community & Supporters

We truly believe that it takes a village to raise a child. We wouldn't be where we are without the valued support of our local youth, parents, residents and community leaders
